Dr. Dan Brett, DDS

Dr. Dan Brett didn't set out to build a mouthguard company. He set out to stop seeing preventable injuries.

As a practicing dentist and lifelong sports enthusiast, Dr. Brett watched athletes come in with serious dental trauma that a properly fitted mouthguard could have prevented. The cost of treatment was steep. The cause was avoidable. So he got to work.

Dr. Brett developed a custom athletic mouthguard that puts protection first without sacrificing comfort or affordability. His research goes deep; he's been involved in multiple studies on mouthguard material properties and holds co-authorship on patents in the field.

He's also a co-founder of Prevent Biometrics, a leader in head impact monitoring technology, and a past board member of the Academy for Sports Dentistry.

Sportsguard uses a pressure lamination process, the same method trusted by dental professionals and used for professional athletes. Instead of pulling a single sheet of material over a mold, our lab forces multiple layers of EVA together under high heat and pressure of up to 90 psi. The result is a denser, more precise, and far more durable mouthguard than anything you'll find on a store shelf.
